Research and Collaboration

Integrated and collaborative research and development projects for sustainable development in Sweden and abroad.

SWEDESD aims to conduct research together with, rather than for, stakeholders from civil society, policy, business, and formal and informal education. In addition, we see the need to establish integrated ESD research as;

  • interdisciplinary – research across disciplinary boundaries
  • transdisciplinary –research collaborations together with actors from sectors outside of academia
  • truly global – research together with many social-geographic perspectives and approaches including knowledge traditions and epistemologies from different places and contexts
