Kevin Andersson, the second holder of the Zennström Visiting Professorship in Climate Change Leadership at Uppsala University, will give an open lecture at Campus Gotland with the title ‘No climate scientist is an island’: an informed case for courage’.
Kevin Anderson will discuss the Paris Agreement on climate change and the implications that follow. Applying the lens of carbon budgets to the agenda, set by the international community, entails that scientific and local communities have to face many of the assumptions upheld in climate models. Kevin argues that courage and good leadership is required for transition to low carbon futures and sustainable development.
Climate researcher Kevin Anderson is Uppsala University’s second holder of the Zennström visiting professorship in Climate Change Leadership and Professor of Energy and Climate Change at the University of Manchester and Deputy Director of the internationally renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.
